Two of the three DeBrazza’s monkeys are diabetic, so keepers must take special care with the extra treats they receive. One of their favorite treats, especially on a muggy day like today, is sugar-free popsicles. The DeBrazza’s monkeys would like to reach out to Blue Bunny with an offer to be spokesmonkeys for their Sweet Freedom sugar-free popsicles. All they ask is a lifetime supply of these healthy treats!

Baby Miley is now 5 months old. She weighs around 230 pounds. She is slowly being weaned off her bottle and now only receives one a day. She is okay with this process and sometimes doesn’t want any formula at all. She is still enjoying her walks around the Zoo, but it takes her a little while to settle down. Miley enjoys playing with the keepers’ tools while they try to clean the exhibit. Keepers enjoy it less. They have given her a few toys to play with including a ball and boxes.

The grey gibbons celebrated their birthdays Fiesta style on Sunday, September 13th. Visitors were directed to the party by colorful posters depicting the gibbons enjoying Fiesta inspired treats. Initially the gibbons were a little overwhelmed by all the decorations and Fiesta music, but after spotting the food treats they settled down. Food treats included cherry tomatoes, leaf lettuce, cilantro, mango, and avocado.

The grey gibbons will be having a joint birthday party on Sunday, September 13th at 1pm. The party will be held at their exhibit and the theme will be Fiesta! The female will be 43 and the male will be 39. Please join us as the gibbons enjoy special treats on their special day.
